I have oddly diverse range of musical taste for
listening. I'm a huge fan of progressive and heavy
metal. My favorite bands include Dream Theater, Pain of
Salvation, Ayreon, Judas Priest, Savatage, the usual
However nowadays I most often listen to modern jazz,
I like also the classic ballads, like Julie London, Barbra
Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald etc.
I like almost all kinds of classical music, but
I listen mostly to Vivaldi and Chopin.
On the other side, I began to grow interest on some
contemporary projects such as Submotion Orchestra.
Playing is a whole another thing for sure, than
listening. People usually want to play what they enjoy
listening. I like to play progressive rock/metal and
hard rock with the guitar.
I started to play piano very recently. I very much
like to compose some experimental pieces of music with
electronic samples of some other instruments like
violin, flute etc.
But still, my main instrument is still the electric guitar. Here's a video that I cover the song titled 'Erotomania' by Dream Theater.
Here's a video of a small piece that I composed for
my mother's birthday, it reflects her experiences
throughout the 2014. By the time I composed this, I
didn't have an external sound interface that I can plug
my guitar in, so there's no guitar pieces.
Note that, objectively, it's full of cliches, mostly
slow and boring, not to mention the classical waltz at
the end (she loves waltz). But I cannot simply make
some conteporary experimental fusion you know (not that I can do it anyway),
her taste of music is mediocre enough to make us forget which of us folks was the modern one in the first place.
Now I'm compiling my real works (with guitars and
everything) to a better place to be presented. I'll
update here when they are ready.
Allow me to introduce my gear:
Ibanez RG1527 7-string Prestige electro-guitar
Roland Cube 60 Amp
Roland Quad-Capture Audio Interface
M-Audio Keystation 49e Midi Keyboard
Here are some pieces that sample what I do in general in terms of composing with guitar.
Let me finish (for now) with a cool photo of me
(extremely rare) from a concert back in 2006. Note that
I had long hair once.
